How to make your own pattern

1. Choose a built-in motif or upload an image. Transparent PNG artwork works especially well.
2. Select a straight grid or offset rows.
3. Adjust the tile size to change the repeat spacing and the motif size to change the artwork scale.
4. Rotate your motif, choose colors and select a solid or transparent background.
5. Download the small repeat tile or export a larger square pattern.

Repeat tile versus finished pattern

The repeat tile is the building block shown repeatedly in the preview. Use that small PNG as a repeating background in a website or repeat it in your design software. The larger pattern download fills a square image at your chosen export size. It is convenient when you need one ready-made image for a slide, mockup or creative project.

Large and rotated motifs wrap across tile edges, so the tile can meet its neighbors without a gap caused by the tile boundary. A finished square export may end partway through a tile; use the repeat-tile download when your output itself must repeat.

Working with custom artwork

The motif color control changes built-in shapes. Uploaded artwork keeps its original colors. Use an image with a transparent background to avoid repeating a visible rectangular border around each motif. Only use artwork you created or have permission to reuse.

Can I download a transparent pattern?

Yes. Select Transparent background before downloading. Both the repeat tile and the larger export use PNG so they can preserve transparency.

What sizes are available?

Repeat tiles range from 96 to 512 pixels per side. Finished square exports range from 256 to 4096 pixels per side.

Does my artwork leave my device?

No. Pattern construction and downloads happen in your browser. Your uploaded motif is not sent to a processing server.

Can I use the pattern commercially?

You need the appropriate rights for any artwork you upload. The built-in geometric and botanical motifs are available for use in your exported designs.
