Create a Low-Poly Background in Your Browser
This generator divides a canvas into irregular triangles and gives each face a slightly different color. The result is a faceted low-poly pattern suitable for website headers, presentation covers, social posts, video backgrounds, wallpapers, posters, and design mockups. You can begin with a coordinated color palette or upload a photograph and use its colors as the source.
How to Generate and Download a Pattern
- Choose a resolution preset, including Full HD, QHD, 4K, square, or mobile-story dimensions. Select Custom size when you need exact measurements.
- Select a ready-made palette, edit the five colors individually, or switch to Use an image and choose a PNG, JPG, or WebP file.
- Adjust cell size, point variance, depth, color texture, hue, and saturation. The preview updates after each change.
- Select New variation to rearrange the triangles without changing your other settings.
- Choose Download PNG to save the full-resolution background.
Understanding the Geometry Controls
Cell size controls the overall scale of the triangles. Smaller cells create a detailed texture, while larger cells create a cleaner and more dramatic geometric look. Point variance moves the triangle corners away from a rigid grid. Low variance feels orderly; high variance produces a more organic mesh. Depth changes the lightness from one face to another, and color texture introduces smaller hue variations so neighboring triangles do not look identical.
Using Your Own Photograph
Open the image source tab and select or drag a photograph into the upload area. The generator samples the picture near the center of every triangle, producing an abstract geometric interpretation rather than copying the original pixels exactly. Use Match canvas to image size when the output should retain the source dimensions. Uploaded files remain in the current browser session and are not sent to a server by this interface.
Resolution and Performance Tips
A 1920 × 1080 PNG is usually sufficient for websites and presentation slides. Choose 3840 × 2160 for a 4K display, large crop, or high-resolution video project. A 4K image with a very small cell size contains thousands of triangles and therefore takes longer to render and download. Increase the cell size if you want faster generation or a smaller visual detail level.
Getting a More Balanced Design
For subtle backgrounds, choose colors with similar brightness and keep depth low. For a bold poster or thumbnail, combine a dark base with one bright accent and increase the depth. Hue shift can create a completely different mood without rebuilding the palette, while saturation can soften the result for text-heavy layouts. Always check that any title placed over the background has enough contrast to remain readable.
