A visible playback marker moves along the artwork so you can see exactly which part of the drawing is currently generating sound. This makes every composition unique because the shape, direction, length, and position of your drawing directly influence what you hear.

Music Paint includes multiple instrument sounds so the same artwork can produce very different musical results. You can experiment with instruments such as piano, marimba, bells, and synth, then replay your drawing to hear how its character changes. The app also includes different musical keys and scales, allowing beginners to create pleasant note combinations without needing to understand music theory.

A full chromatic piano-style keyboard is available for users who want to explore individual notes manually. The keys can be played using a mouse, touchscreen, or supported computer keyboard controls. This makes Music Paint useful not only as a drawing toy but also as a simple way to experiment with pitch, melody, and the relationship between visual position and musical notes.

The sounds are stored locally with the application rather than relying on remote audio playback. This helps the tool remain responsive and allows the included instrument samples to load directly from the website files.

You can make smooth lines, glowing strokes, ribbons, dotted patterns, spray-style artwork, and other creative designs. Play Your Drawing Back as Music

The Play feature is one of the most important parts of Music Paint. Playback does not simply jump between unrelated locations on the canvas. Instead, it retraces the path stored while you were drawing. A white playback indicator follows the line point by point, making it easy to understand how the visual drawing is being interpreted as sound.

Separate strokes are also preserved. This means you can build a composition gradually by drawing one section at a time and then listen as the app moves through your complete artwork.

Controls for instrument choice, musical scale, volume, and audio effects give you additional ways to change how your creation sounds without having to redraw it.

Music Paint is designed for creating content that you can keep after finishing a session. Your artwork can be exported as a PNG image, allowing you to save the finished visual composition.

You can also export the musical interpretation of your drawing as a WAV audio file. The WAV export is generated from the path and musical sequence created by your artwork, making it useful when you want to keep the music separately from the visual canvas.

For a more complete result, Music Paint can also record the performance as a video. The recording focuses specifically on the paint area while the artwork is being played, rather than capturing unnecessary menus, buttons, or the surrounding webpage. Audio from the musical playback is included with the recording, creating a shareable visual-and-sound performance.

Music Paint has been designed to adapt to different screen sizes. The interface rearranges itself on smaller devices so that the drawing area remains usable without overcrowding the display.
