Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini: Smaller but powerful
Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is littler smaller but powerful alternative of Samsung Galaxy S5. Little bit with reduced benefits, but the compact version of the flagship keep some aspects offered in the flagship model of the company, like water resistance, finger print sensor and heart rate monitor.
The South Korean firm has officially announced the launch of a smaller version of Samsung Galaxy S5, as happened with Galaxy S4. The terminal will be available from early July in Russia and ‘later’ internationally. It will have a screen size of 4.5-inch (Galaxy S5 reaches the 5.1 inches), with a resolution of 1,280X720 pixels (though S5 has 1,920X1,080 pixels resolution).
One of the big differences from the South Korean star model is inside. Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is available only with 16GB internal storage and the MicroSD card slot supports up to 64GB, but the Galaxy S5 can be bought either with 16GB or 32GB and the card slot supports up tp 128GB. The Mini version has 1.5GB RAM that is 0.5GB less than Galaxy S5.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini comes with a 1.4 GHz Quad Core processor and Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, that is almost half what Galaxy S5 has (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and quad-core 2.5 GHz Processor). The operating system remained the same as Android 4.2.2 KitKat.
The primary camera also goes half: Galaxy S5 Mini has 8MP primary camera, though the Galaxy S5 has 16MP. Surprisingly Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini has a 2.1 megapixels front camera, but the Galaxy S5 has 2 megapixels that is 0.1MP lesser than mini version.
Features that remain intact and offer like the Galaxy S5 are the fingerprint sensor and heart rate monitor. Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is IP67 certified, just like its elder brother (galaxy S5). This is the certificate to water and dust resistance. Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini will be available in four colors: Electric Blue, Charcoal Black, Copper Gold and Shimmery White. Prices have not been revealed at this time, but we guess it should be around $450.
