Gaming on PC

Gaming has been the most popular way to keep a computer user entertained. However, gaming without a good configuration and system tune-up could be quite frustrating. Today we are going to discuss how you can improve the performance of your games on your Windows PCs or Laptops.

Things to do if you want to improve the gaming performance of your computer

Get External Graphic Card (if your computer doesn’t have dedicated GPU)

Most of the HD games will require you to have a Dedicated Graphic Card on your computer. Your system may fail to load games without a dedicated GPU. So if your computer doesn’t already have one, we would recommend getting one you can afford. Nvidia and AMD have a variety of Graphic Cards available. Brands like Razer, Alienware, Gigabyte also sell external GPU equipped with Nvidia or AMD that you can buy.

Update Graphic Driver

Make sure that you keep the Graphic Drivers updated. Manufacturers keep releasing bug fixes and improvements update that can help to get the most of your Graphic Card. You can visit the Manufacturers’s website to check if any update is available. Graphic Drivers updates are usually not shown within the computer. If you don’t know what Graphic Driver your system is using, just go to the Control Panel –> Hardware and Sound –> Device Manager. Click on the Display Adaptor option. This is where you will see the Graphic Card your system is using.

Tune Up GPU Performance by Overclocking it

Overclocking GPU is something that must be done with care. In most of the case, it is safe to overclock GPU performance by 10% to 20%. Bear in mind that overclocking GPU will certainly improve gaming performance but will also increase the load or temperature of the system. If you are not sure what and how you should do it, get the help of a Game Booster application that can help to overclock GPU, and also monitor the temperature. Game Booster applications are also known as FPS Booster application that actually tries to increase the FPS (Frame Per Second) to improve the gaming experience.

Clean Up and Tune-Up System

It’s not just GPU that can improve gaming performance, but your CPU also has an important role. If your computer’s storage is full, it will not give enough space to the Game to save the required data. Every game needs some space to save gaming progress and to run smoother. It’s always a good idea to clean up junk and cache files. If you are running out of storage, delete those data that are not important or transfer them to external storage and free-up your system storage.

Upgrade Internal Storage and RAM

Let’s take an example of the Intel Core i7 10th Generation Processor. It supports DDR3L-1600, LPDDR3-2133, DDR4-2666, DDR4-2933, DDR4-3200, and LPDDR4-3733 RAM types. LPDDR4-3733 can improve performance greatly and you should upgrade if you can. It is always recommended to have at least 32GB of RAM if you play lots of high-quality games.
As far as storage is concerned, you should always use SSD storage to run the game. SSD storages are a little expensive but it runs almost 8 times faster than normal Hard Disk that will have a big impact on performance.
