Xiaomi launched Redmi 2A back in March this year, and had price tag of ¥ 599 (around $97). Now Xiaomi deducted ¥ 100 from its price, and made it available for ¥ 499 (around $80). Xiaomi already offers great devices at such price that no other companies offer, and now it’s even more cheaper.
Redmi 2A is the cheaper version of Xiaomi Redmi 2 with little change in the technical specification. There is no difference in terms of display and resolution (4.7-inch with 1280 X 720 pixels) of both the model except Xiaomi Redmi 2A comes with Gorilla Glass 2 protection and the other one doesn’t.
Redmi 2A has one option only, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, but Redmi 2 gives 2 option to choose, 2GB RAM with 16 GB Internal Storage and 8 GB internal storage with 1GB RAM.
Redmi 2 comes with Quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 chipset, but Redmi 2A features a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Leadcore chipset. Battery power remains the same for both featuring a 2200 mAh battery. Both the models feature 8-megapixels rear and 2-megapixels front camera.
Both the device gives great value for money, and whatever you choose is fair enough to run multiple tasks and for everyday use if you really want a compact smartphone (not phablet).
