Samsung Galaxy S4 Hack

A security company NowSecure has found keyboard vulnerabilities issue with Samsung Galaxy Devices including Galaxy S6. There are more than 600 million Galaxy devices that are affected by the vulnerabilities. This security issue arises because of the pre-installed keyboard “SwiftKey” that could allow hackers to attack the device remotely and access it.

SwiftKey Vulnerability can  allow hackers to do these things remotely according to NowSecure report:

1) Access sensors and resources like GPS, camera and microphone

2) Secretly install malicious app(s) without the user knowing

3) Tamper with how other apps work or how the phone works

4) Eavesdrop on incoming/outgoing messages or voice calls

5) Attempt to access sensitive personal data like pictures and text messages

Samsung defended saying that it’s not that easy to hack the device, but agreed on SwiftKey Vulnerability issue. Samsung said will release the security update to fix it. The update will be launched for Samsung Galaxy S4 and later models that comes with KNOX security installed on it. The update will also depend of the carrier approval, Samsung added. Samsung Also said will closely work with SwiftKey to resolve the issue and stop it in upcoming devices.
