When we talk about currencies in the world, the first thing that crosses our mind is the United States Dollar (USD). However, USD is not highest in value, but it is still very popular because USD is widely accepted around the world and this could not be the case for some currencies. Well, we are not here to talk about popularity, but the value. So here are the top 10 highest and least valuable currencies in the world.

1. Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD)

  • 1 KWD = Around 3.27 USD
  • Kuwaiti coins are known as Fills, e.g. 20 fills, 50 fills
  • Currency Symbol: د.ك.

2. Bahraini Dinar (BHD)

  • 1 BHD = Around 2.65 USD
  • Bahraini coins are also known as Fills, e.g. 25 fills, 50 fills
  • Currency Symbol: .د.ب

3. Omani Rial (OMR)

  • 1 OMR = 2.60 USD
  • Omani Coins are called Baisa, e.g. 25 Baisa, 50 Baisa
  • Currency Symbol: ر.ع.

4. British Pound (GBP)

  • 1 GBP = 1.23 USD

I am damn sure that there are countries in the list that you haven’t even heard of. Don’t get surprised to see the value of currency. It doesn’t mean that you visit those countries with $100 and can move all around the country. Things are expensive the way they are in our countries. Some items are expensive and some are affordable. The bank notes in those countries are also higher in numbers compared to other countries. For example, Iran has even 100,000 Riyal Banknote.
