We published an article earlier about Samsung Lucky-LTE model (Galaxy S7), that was spotted on Geekbench 3 with 4GB RAM and Exynos 8890 SoC. Exynos 8890 is expected to be the same SoC that is known as M1 Mongoose.

Today, we have found a new device that went through Geekbench 3. The model name shows as “Samsung Project Lucky,” but this is not the same device we found earlier. This model features 3GB RAM, compared to 4GB RAM in Lucky-LTE model.

Samsung Lucky Project is running on Android Lollipop 5.0.2, and features 1.5 GHz Octa-core Exynos 8890 SoC and 3GB RAM. It went through Geekbench 3 performance test on 12 September. It scored 1532 in single-core performance and 5434 in multi-core performance.

Difference Between Lucky-LTE and Lucky Project (Samsung Galaxy S7)

They both have been tested with the same Exynos 8890 SoC, but Samsung Lucky-LTE model had 1.4 GHz Process with 4GB RAM and Lucky Project has 1.5 GHz processor with 3GB RAM.

Surprisingly, the one with 3GB RAM scored 117 more in single-core performance, and 502 in multi-core compared to other with 4GB RAM, and the clock speed increment could be the reason behind this.

This defines that they are testing Samsung Galaxy S7 with 3GB as well as 4GB RAM changing the clock speed of the processor. However, Chipset remained the same in both case. Samsung Galaxy S7 scored far better with 3GB RAM and 1.5 GHz Octa-core processor, and this could make Samsung to use the same amount of RAM.
