iPhone 6 and iOS 8.1

A few days ago it was disclosed that the American company Apple is working on three new iOS updates ( iOS 8.1 , iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3 ). The first of these updates, IOS 8.1, has arrived as beta version for developers. And as just to publicize, this update includes a new option that allows us manually enable or disable the 2G, 3G and 4G from the Settings menu.

Choosing among the three connectivities will affect the internet speed or the battery life. First of all, using this option will make easier to save the power od the battery of iPhone or iPad, and we can use the connectivity of 3G and 4G only at that time when we need to check any information using the internet data. 3G and 4G connectivity consumes more battery power, so this way we can save battery choosing 2G connectivity when we are not using internet or making any video calls.  Moreover, if we know thoroughly the meaning of the connectivities of 2G , 3G and 4G, there is also the possibility that we are able to save data in our mobile tariff, manually selecting the type of connectivity that we want to use in each situation.

iOS network option

This new option for the Internet connectivity has not yet reached all developers, so some users may not find this option in their device. With respect to the general public, iOS 8.1 update will start reaching the users from October 20, and there will be a file that will reach all devices that have received the iOS 8 update. Here is the complete list of the devices that will receive iOS 8.1 update:

iPhone 6 Plus

iPhone 6

iPhone 5S

iPhone 5C

iPhone 5

iPhone 4S

iPad 2

Third-generation iPad

iPad Mini

iPad Air

Fifth Generation iPod Touch

Moreover, the iOS 8.1 update will also bring small bug fixes. One of the most recent problems that users have reported the failure of Bluetooth connectivity arisen from updating the device to iOS 8.0.2. So there is the possibility that the error will be fixed with the next update of as iOS 8.1 (or with the future updates of iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3 ). Well, wait until October 20, and update your device to iOS 8.1, and let’s see if it fixes the bugs or not. Still there would be two more upcoming updates after iOS 8.1.
