A survey has been conducted on 4,200 parents of the children (under 13 years old) about the Facebook usage, and the result is quite surprising. According to Assocham survey, 73% of children are under age 13 who are using Facebook in the big cities, like Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Banglore, Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, Dehradun, Pune, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Dehradun.

Well, you might think that Facebook doesn’t allow children to sign up if they are not at least 13 years old. These things are normal on  the internet, anyone can signup using the wrong details. There are parents who help their children to lie on the internet and signup the account using the fake details that really shows how careless they are? When they get addicted, the same parents get sick of them and repent. According to the survey, 75% of the parents are aware that  their children are active on Facebook, and 82% out of those help their children to sign up.

According to the survey come out, around 5-10% children are aged between 8-9, nearly 15% children are around 10 years old, and 25% of them are around 13 years old. I wonder what the parents expect when they make their 8 years old kids to use social network like Facebook?

India is the top second country that has most of the Facebook users after US. In February 2014, Arab News posted an article where they have updated the forecast of the Facebook users by the end of 2014. According to the forecast, India will have around 152.4 million Facebook users, the forecast for US leaves the country behind as it has been predicted to have around 151.1 million users. So, the prediction says that India is going to overtake US in terms of Facebook users.

Well, I don’t think there is something to proud of. Getting the best education to the children and make them success can make a country proud, but if they are breaking records to get into the dark and spoil their career and life, that’s something needs to be taken care of. If the parents can give some time to their children and find them good sites to learn good things (different languages, improving communication skills etc.), this might have opposite effect what they have it now, after the Facebook usage.

According NDTC news published a couple of days ago, Facebook said that they might have around 100 million fake or duplicate Facebook accounts that is just a rough figure, and the realty might amaze people if it would have been a way to recognize it without any error which I don’t think is possible.
