Today, it is very difficult to find someone who is not on social network. So every day we are more vulnerable in terms of online security . People use Facebook, Twitter and other social network which might create trouble in future if you are not alert in terms of your privacy. However, we hardly care about the private area or privacy on social network unless we suffer any problems. The saying “prevention is better than cure” has not be made just like that. For ex: while creating a Facebook account, It asks so many information, but all of them are not necessary to fill. Keep in mind that you do not need to give your phone number, your job or your home address. These data are too private to share with any social network and are not mandatory. If you do, you may be providing information to people outside your environment and you do not even know their intentions .

2. Beware of links

Nowadays the internet or the virtual world is full of viruses, so the social networks are not the exception. Sometimes we see a link of interesting video with exciting words on it. That doesn’t play on Facebook itself but you need visit their site clicking on the link. If you have a good antivirus installed on your phone, you may be warned many times that the website you are trying to visit is infected. You may proceed on your own risk. You can also get the link, when you click on that will be asked to fill the detail, and that might be the trick to steal the information.

3. Be careful including your tastes or hobbies

Understand that you are unique, and you have your own taste and hobbies, adding everything on social network can make other people know you inside out. If a person knows everything about you, you can understand what risk it may involve. Don’t lose your identity.

4. Do not sync social network contacts through your e-mail

There are some social networks that ask to sync your contacts through email to find more friends. Note that if you accept this, you are providing the access to your email account and collect some certain data. You can’t trust all social network, even you do, you can’t trust all the employees working with them, can you?

5. Never publish that you are away from home or going somewhere
