The Japanese company Sony has started distributing a new update which currently is landing on the Sony Xperia SP worldwide. The update follows the build version 12.1.A.1.207 and it seems to be released to incorporate small bug fixes over the current version of 12.1.A.1.205 . Users who purchased their Sony Xperia SP under the Orange Operator (initially only in France) seems to be the first to receive this update, so the contract free mobile phone owners and those who acquired under another telephone company must wait some additional time to receive the same update.

Although, Sony has no given exact details of this update so far, it appears that the file 12.1.A.1.207 incorporates only small changes and improvements as the users who downloaded the update reported that it is a file small file. Faults such as problems with the WiFi or camera application failures detected by some owners of Sony Xperia SP expected to be completely solved with this new update.

Apart from this minor update, which Sony Xperia SP owners really expect right now is an update that will include the latest version of the Android operating system, Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Rumors regarding this update are not at all clear, since there is so much information that points to the latest version of Android will not reach the Sony Xperia SP, but there are information indicating that there is still the possibility that this update will occur. In either case the only solution is to wait a few weeks until it is fully confirmed that Sony is (not) working on any Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for this smartphone.

Sony Xperia SP is a mobile that hit stores in early 2013. Its main technical specifications include the display of 4.6 inches with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, dual core processor running at 1.7 GHz , 1 gigabyte RAM , 8 gigabytes of internal storage (expandable via external memory card up to 32 gigabytes), eight megapixels primary and the battery of 2,370 mAh capacity. The last major update for this smartphone was held in February this year with the arrival of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
