Many of these emails lead to false online shops which purpose is to steal our bank details.

The German security company G Data has given some tips to manage spam and avoid the online scams in this Valentine. We tell you these tips. We start with the tricks to handle spam and first obvious advise is to move doubtful and fraudulent emails straight to the trash.

Miraculous deals, vacation packages, medicines to improve libido and secret admirers should also disappear (delete) without even opening them and, of course, you should never click on links.

Another important advice is to check the language properly. The misspellings and grammatical errors often hide a scam.

Never answer any doubtful email. Even though we do not open any link, cybercriminals will use the response as a door to keep sending you spam again and again, because after you reply they will understand that your email account is active and you do use it.

By the way, another way to protect your computer and your personal data is to use a second e-mail for platforms such as forums, promotions or contests. And finally, it is not advised respond to those emails where personal or banking information is requested.

And now we go with specific tips for Valentine’s Day.

As always, you should use an antivirus on your computer. Ideally, use a complete package that includes malware protection against online fraud (phishing) and banking Trojans plus extra protection for our email.
