Samsung plans two high-end phones in the second half of 2014
With the imminent presentation of the expected iPhone 6 on the horizon, it seems that the Korean company Samsung has refused to stand and watch. After presenting the financial results for the second quarter, senior vice president of mobile division of the company, wanted to provide some more information to investors, and has announced that Samsung is preparing to launch two new smartphones that surely will be announced during the second half of this year 2014. Both have two important characteristics that differentiate one from another. On the one hand, we see that the first is expected to be submitted equipped with new materials that have never been used in the other models; on the other, the second will demonstrate a big screen. However, considering the rumors and the usual release schedule of Samsung, we have pretty clear view what these terminals would be equipped with?
The first smartphone which we would be talking about is the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, a phone which Samsung is trying to make different. This new device with which is partially made of premium metals. We said partially because it seems that the structure is aluminum like, but the back will be topped by a cover leatherette feature that we have seen in the Samsung Galaxy S5, and Samsung has built it to have a nicer touch and fit your hand better. Samsung Galaxy Alpha is expected to launch this month, equipped with a 4.7-inch display (720 pixels resolution) and a Exynos 5433 processor that is much more powerful than the legendary, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 and 805.
As we said, this is not the only smartphone that Samsung is going to launch. The end of summer will have a major exhibition dedicated to consumer electronics. We refer to the IFA 2014 in Berlin , an event in which the Korean usually involves to present some of the most important developments in all and each of its segments. It is also that this is the perfect time for the presentation of the second model that the firm has in hand that is expected to release this year as well. It would be, of course, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the fourth generation of note series phablet with a screen that exceed five inches. It seems that, as usual with each new edition, the device will bring some general developments in the section of the screen, camera and processor. However, two of the most interesting features will be the integration of a fingerprint sensor and the ability to resist harmful elements such as water or dust.
