Earlier we published an article reporting that Snapdragon 820 Benchmark score reached 2300 in single-core performance, and now we have got the new leak for you.

The latest leak is coming from a reliable Chinese leakster that reported that Samsung will use high frequency version of Snapdragon 820 Chip in Galaxy S7, and he also mentioned that this version may be exclusively for Samsung.  Clocking at high frequency may create heat issue, so Samsung would use heat pipe to keep the device temperature normal. He reported that Snapdragon 820 with Galaxy S7 scored 2456 in single-core performance, and 5423 in multi-core performance.

Galaxy S7 Snapdragon 820

Single-core score of Snapdragon 820 in case of Galaxy S7 series phones is quite close to Apple A9 benchmark, and multi-core is much better.

According to Qualcomm’s detail, Snapdragon 820 can be clocked at up to 2.2 GHz, but it has been spotted in many tests with reduced frequency, like Xiaomi Mi 5. It was spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 820 clocked at 1.59 GHz that scored 2162 in single-core performance. This instance proves that if Snapdragon 820 is clocked at 2.2 GHz, then it would certainly score 2456 or more.

Qualcomm is already alert about the heat issue that drove many manufacturers away from Snapdragon 810. So they have been optimizing Snapdragon 820 for a long time. So we expect great performance from this CPU. Qualcomm is expected to start supplying its high-end chip from January 2016. However, all the Galaxy S7 users will not be able to taste Snapdragon 820, because some of the region will get the device with Exynos 8890 chipset.
