OnePlus has announced its new smartphone, OnePlus X with 5 inches Full HD display. OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 both feature a 5.5 inches display, and this is the first time OnePlus has launched a smartphone with little smaller screen, but that’s the perfect size of a smartphone. In terms of design, OnePlus X features a metal frame at the sides and glass at the back. There will be one limited Ceramic edition that will be be available later in limited quantity.
OnePlus X Tech Specs
Coming to the technical specifications, OnePlus has used the same CPU already found in OnePlus One. It features a 1080 pixels 5 inches OLED display, 32-bit Quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU, 3GB RAM, 16GB ROM (expandable with MicroSD card), 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and uses Samsung’s ISOCELL sensor, 8-megapixel front shooter, 2525 mAh battery, FM Radio etc.. It runs Oxygen OS, based on Android Lollipop, but will be updated to Android Marshmallow soon. by So the leaked specs from Amzon India turned out fake.
OnePlus X also comes with an Ambient display feature that will kick in when you wave your hand across the display, receive notifications or take your phone out of the pocket. You can use either 2 SIM cards or one SIM plus MicroSD card with OnePlus X.
Release date and Pricing
OnePlus X Onyx edition will be be available in Europe and India starting from 5 November, and it will be released in the US on 19 November. The device will be sold for €269 in Europe and $249 in the US. The limited Ceramic edition will be released on 24 November in Europe and India with a price tag of €369, and only 10,000 units will be sold.
You will require an invite to buy this phone at launch, but don’t get upset. After first month of sale, OnePlus X will go for an open sale every week for an hour.
