OnePlus has officially made some things clear about its upcoming flagship. First of all, OnePlus 2 is going to be the first smartphone to feature a USB Type-C. If you have seen the new 12-inch Macbook, then you must have noticed USB Type-C Port. What it actually do is, make it easier to plug USB cable to your phone. You don’t need to check carefully down and up side of USB cable, you can simply plug by both the side.
Another information what OnePlus gave is about the Chipset/Processor. OnePlus used the best chip available in the market when they released OnePlus One. OnePlus will do it again, so OnePlus 2 will feature a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset that supports 64-bit architecture and has eight cores (octa-core). This is the best chipset available in market, but Snapdragon 810 is known for heating issue. OnePlus clarified that they have used Snapdragon 810 V2.1 and tested the device, and it doesn’t get too hot even after long use.
Here is what OnePlus says about Snapdragon 810 chipset and heating Issue
Although there have been reports that the 810 runs warmer than its predecessors, we assure you that we have taken all the necessary precautions and beyond to prevent this from occurring in the 2. We worked very closely with Qualcomm’s engineers to integrate an improved version of the chipset (v2.1) in the OnePlus 2, and fine-tuned both hardware and software. The 2 will be “cooler than ever”.
Inside the 2, the 810 consists of several CPU processors. Layered on top of these processors is both thermal gel and graphite placed across different areas of the phone. This graphite ensures that heat generated from the processors will dissipate evenly, as opposed to being concentrated and leading to performance issues. After rigorous testing, the 2 meets the industry standard for phone temperature, even with hours of use.
OnePlus is teasing gradually about OnePlus 2, and it will stop next month. Yes, OnePlus 2 has been set to be announced on 27 July. One more month to go and you will have all the details.
