As we know that Motorola mobiles are not much popular, and the users don’t give it first priority, but the first quarter of 2014 went well for Motorola, and Motorola Mobility tweeted that they have shipped 6.5 million devices globally. Well, Motorola launched Moto X and then Moto G, and these two models have done a great job. Moto X was the first mobile to receive Android 4.4, Kitkat updates after Google Nexus.

Motorola mobile sales

Moto G has the most contribution to its sales. Who won’t like a smartphone with 1.2 GHz Quad Core Processor, 4.5” display and Android Kitkat OS for less than $200 without any contract? To be very honest, when any of my friends ask me that he/she has a tight budget and wants to buy a good Android Phone, I suggest them to go for Moto G. I give them other option only when they are not interested in Motorola.

Google acquired Motorola Mobility business in 2012 for $12.5 billion, and Moto X and Moto G was launched under the Google’s ownership. Despite all, Motorola Mobility continues losing money, and finally Google sold it. Yes, Motorola Mobility has been acquired by Lenovo for $2.91 billion (approx).

Lenovo also acquired IBM’s PC business in 2005, and now Motorola Mobility. Let’s see what strategy Lenovo makes to make it a successful deal as Google has sold for a huge loss. Lenovo is a PC and laptop maker as well along with the smartphones. So, Lenovo might mix up some great features and make the upcoming devices better.
