Is it Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update?
AS MIUI version is 7.2.-.-, you must be expecting about device to show Android 6.0, but this is not going to happen. Xiaomi produces great smartphones, but their updates are kind of awkward. Your device would get the update that Mi 5 already has, but it will keep showing the same OS version that you are already using (Kitkat or Lollipop). It seems, you need to assume that you are using Android 6.0 Marshmallow and keep ignoring what about device shows.
