Google and WhatsApp Supports Apple

We already know that Apple denied US Government to breach iOS Security, and issued an open letter clarifying that they don’t have any available tool or way to unlock an iPhone, and they can’t makes another version of iOS that will allow them to unlock the device. This is because they care core about the privacy of millions of people compared to one attack where 12 people were killed.

Now Google CEO Sundar Pichai has appreciated Apple’s statement about, and he tweeted 5 times to complete his statement as Twitter doesn’t allow to post more than 140 words in one go. Here is Sundar Pichai’s Statement;

Important post by @tim_cook. Forcing companies to enable hacking could compromise users’ privacy. We know that law enforcement and intelligence agencies face significant challenges in protecting the public against crime and terrorism. We build secure products to keep your information safe and we give law enforcement access to data based on valid legal orders. But that’s wholly different than requiring companies to enable hacking of customer devices & data. Could be a troubling precedent. Looking forward to a thoughtful and open discussion on this important issue.

WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum also backed Apple, and made a Facebook post with the following statement;

https://www.apple.com/customer-letter/ – I have always admired Tim Cook for his stance on privacy and Apple’s efforts to protect user data and couldn’t agree more with everything said in their Customer Letter today. We must not allow this dangerous precedent to be set. Today our freedom and our liberty is at stake.
