The challenges of making a flying car is hard nut to crack, but Aeromobil has tried to overcome. This flying car was designed by the Slovak  Stefan Klein and on October 29 it will go for official launch at the Pioneers Festival Vienna (Austria).

Although the story seems to be true out of a science fiction movie, apparently the Aeromobil 3.0 is ready for its first flight. This car is going to be launched after several failed tests, which began in 1990. That’s when the vehicle in its version 2.5, had the ability to land and fly without any problems. However, we still had a number of failures and the company has tried to solve this with the new model.

The car features a  steel frame and carbon fiber, with an approximate weight of  450 kilos and an aircraft engine  Rotax 912, four-cylinder water-cooled boxer, from  80 Hp to 100 Hp. Thanks to this system, the Aeromobil 3.0 is able to exceed 160 mph when going by road. The car measures 1.6 meters wide and 6 meters long, with wings folded . As the creators say, the car is able to park in a normal car Square, provided the wings are not deployed.

As you can see in the pictures, the Aeromobil 3.0 has two doors and is a two-seater. To maintain stability and propel also carries a rear propeller between the two tails . The car is capable of flying at speeds of over 200 mph for 700 km with a consumption of 15 liters / hour. The minimum speeds reaching for take off and fly are 130 and 60 mph, respectively.

Keep in mind that this is only a prototype, so we’ll have to wait and see what the final product will be. And, may still be modified. Mainly because there is still no regulation so that these devices can move freely on the roads . A couple of days ago Mercedes presented its autonomous truck, but the company claimed that we would not see in circulation for another ten years.

Google is also working on the car that will go on the road without the driver. The truth is that, little by little, we improve the capabilities of traditional cars and particularly the Aeromobil 3.0 could be a revolution in the industry, can you imagine out of a jam at rush hour flying? It would be a solution for more than one problems. “We want to make personal transport more exciting, efficient and sustainable, the flying car can do a amazing job about this.”. With more and more cars on the roads and airports increasingly full of people, and now traveling is not what it used to be, “said Stefan Klein Media Guardian . With this premise ahead, we are confident that in the not longer when we will see flying cars driving on our roads.
